With the confidence, knowledge and skills to produce your own work, you can take agency of your own career!

Producing Your Own Work will take you from concept to execution, teaching you how to produce your own work. Oscar Shortlisted Producer Lucy Hayes will teach you how to think like a producer and give you the skills that are required to successfully produce short and feature length films, and TV series/Web Series.

This includes:

  • Scheduling & Funding

  • Attaching creatives to your project

  • Collaborating with Writers/Directors

  • Preparing for your shoot

  • Successfully applying to funding bodies

  • Producing in the Modern Age - Alternative angles to get your project seen by the masses

This course is for you if you want to add another string to your bow, diversify your skill set, and learn the skills you need to create your own work. Your newfound understanding of the producing process will serve you on set, by being able to understand the intricacies of the filmmaking process.

Lucy has recently been successful in receiving highly sought after Screen Australia funding for her most recent project:

The Monster With Me which is is part of the popular TikTok channel, Shortest Blockbusters, which has generated more than 2.5 billion views and attracted over 12 million followers, comes a 10-part short horror anthology series. Featuring a monster that leads viewers through terrifying and immersive surreal experiences, this animated series is set to make the audience face their deepest fears through terrifying nightmares whilst awake. Writer/director/producer Artin Rain (Shortest Blockbusters) teams up with producer Lucy Hayes (Lost & Found).

Lucy J. Hayes is an award winning producer of films, television and commercials. Her films have played at festivals across the globe including the Berlinale, Sydney Film Festival, TriBeca and Austin Film Festival. Lucy is the co-founder of Wabi Sabi Studios (LOST & FOUND) with Bradley Slabe & Andrew Goldsmith and Stanley & Morph with John Tummino.

About Lucy Hayes:

Lucy Hayes is the co-owner of Stanley & Morph a boutique content creation and video production company. She has produced numerous short films, music videos, TVC's, branded content, and corporate videos across live action and animation. Most recently, she produced the stop motion animated film LOST & FOUND which premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival 2018, and was awarded the Yoram Gross Award for Animation at Sydney Film Festival. In 2015 she produced the Nickelodeon series Supa Phresh, and Movement, a six part web series which was officially selected for TriBeca Film Festivals Digital Creators Market.

In 2016, Lucy was honoured to receive a Screen Australia Creative Talent Suite placement and spent the year working at Lin Pictures in Hollywood with Producer, Dan Lin. Whilst there, Lucy worked across development and production of LEGO BATMAN, LEGO NINJAGO, THE LEGO MOVIE 2, Stephen King's IT, Disney's ALADDIN and DEATHNOTE for Netflix, as well as Frequency and Lethal Weapon with Fox and ABC.

Her films have screen both in Australian and internationally winning a multitude of awards. In 2011, she was awarded the Margaret Lawrence Social Justice Award for her work on Silent Night. Silent Night went on to win Best Short Film at Cockatoo Island Film Festival and Audience Favourite at the Human Rights and Arts Film Festival, 2013.

Lucy has experience managing budgets both large and small, as well as working with large production crews. She normally see's a project through from early stage development to post-production and beyond.

Lucy holds a BA from the Australian National University, in Film Studies and History, and Honours in Drama, and a Dip Ed from the University of New South Wales. In 2011, she graduated from the Victorian College of The Arts with a Post Grad Diploma in Film & Television (Producing).
