Courtney Miller’s "Audition Process" course offers a comprehensive exploration of the key elements necessary to excel in auditions. Through this course, participants will learn how to set up and equip themselves for self-taping, an increasingly vital aspect of the auditioning process in today's entertainment industry. Students will gain practical knowledge on selecting the right equipment, optimising their recording space, and producing professional-quality self-tapes that capture the essence of their performances.
Navigating the audition process can be both exciting and nerve-wracking for aspiring actors. In this course, students will gain valuable insights into what to expect during auditions, from initial submissions to callback stages. They will develop a clear understanding of the roles of casting directors, agents, and producers, as well as the best practices to present themselves with confidence and professionalism in any audition setting.
Preparing a scene for self-taping is an essential skill for every actor. Throughout this course, participants will be guided through the art of scene analysis, uncovering character motivations and emotional arcs to deliver authentic and compelling performances. Additionally, students will receive specialised training in self-taping for both the Australian and US markets, understanding the subtle differences in casting preferences to tailor their self-tapes effectively. With in-class self-tape practice, actors will refine their skills, receiving constructive feedback to build a diverse portfolio of impressive audition-ready recordings. About Courtney:
Courtney Miller got her TV big break when she was cast as 'Bella Nixon' on 'Home and Away' in 2018. During her 4 years on the show, Courtney received a nomination for the Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent for her portrayal of Bella and received praise for an online grooming storyline. Since leaving 'Home and Away' this year, Courtney has been honing her craft as an actor.
