Coming straight off the latest series filmed in Sydney 'Last King of the Cross', where he worked with Callan Mulvey, Tim Roth, Lincoln Younes, Claude Jabbour. Grant Brown is an experienced director who will elevate your performance to a professional level.
The Actor / Director Collaboration with Director Grant Brown
With a focus on refining performance for the screen, this workshop will challenge you to really think outside the box of performance to help you fully understand the collaboration between the Actor and Director. This is an incredible opportunity for Sydney actors to work with a highly sought-after director to enhance your acting ability whilst building a professional relationship with Grant.
The tools you will be learning from Grant has been picked up over his 35 year career working with some of the highest profile actors in Australia. Including scene preparation that will get you out of your head, how to keep your energy and ‘turn it on’ during long days, working cohesively with other actors, and collaborating with directors.
This is also an opportunity to meet Grant and develop a relationship a critically acclaimed director renowned for his work directing TV Drama.

About Grant:
Grant has been directing Television drama for over 25 years. His projects have covered many genres including the first season of Underbelly, McLeod’s Daughters, House Husbands, Rush, Love Child, Janet King, Harrow, Reef Break and Troppo. He has been nominated several times for AACTA and ADG awards for direction. Several of his directed shows have gone on to win AACTA’s for best series.
PREPARATION:
We will send you a scene 5 to 7 days prior to class commencement. Please ensure you have learnt this scene - treat this like an audition!
