Rarmian began his career doing short films, but it was his breakout role as Young Peter Allen in Hugh Jackman’s The Boy From Oz that truly launched his stage career, touring Australia. He later won a Helpmann Award for his portrayal of Billy Elliot in the Australian tour of Billy Elliot the Musical. From there, he starred as Hiccup in the live arena spectacular of How to Train Your Dragon, touring not only Australia but also New Zealand, Canada, and the USA.
As his stage career flourished, so did his work on screen. In the same year he made his professional stage debut, Rarmian earned a guest role in the TV mini-series Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King, where he starred alongside Ron Livingston. This led to numerous other roles, including a recurring part on Australia’s Dance Academy and a guest recurring role in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.
Rarmian’s success also extended internationally when he landed his first series regular role on the ABC drama The Family, alongside Joan Allen, Alison Pill, and Liam James, produced by Jenna Bans (executive producer of Scandal and Grey's Anatomy). He is perhaps best known for his leading role on the NBC drama Rise, created by Jason Katims and Jeffrey Seller (the team behind Hamilton).
In recent years, Rarmian has continued to build an impressive resume with major roles on NBC’s New Amsterdam, MR. MERCEDES (as a series regular), AMC’s NOS4A2, and CBS’s psychological thriller Tell Me A Story, executive produced by Kevin Williamson (Scream franchise).
