1. What steps have you taken to keep creative during isolation?

Quite a few! I started a podcast with my roommate (who didn’t? haha), that was a very new kind of creativity than I’m used to. But most of all I started a production company! We are shooting our first film at the end of the year in rural Australia which I am very excited about. Otherwise, my partner and I wrote a very silly comedy skit and uploaded it to you tube... it’s called Blame if anyone wants a giggle.

But yes, at the start of isolation I kept seeing sentiments online urging people to not feel pressure to be creative, but if anything all I wanted to do was knuckle down and make the absolute most of our time when the theatres were all closed!

2. Do you prefer working on stage or on screen? Why?

This is a question I always get asked and my answer hasn’t changed, it’s equal. Because they are so incredibly different. It’s like saying what do you prefer hot chips or a nice glass of wine! Well they are both equally as amazing (to me at least) they are just so different. Theatre is amazing in the way you can be kinaesthetic with a real life audience, but film allows you to be so detailed and being on a film set is always magical.

3. What's the best advice you've received?

The world doesn’t owe you s**t!

4. What have been your self care techniques during quarantine?

Writing! I started writing a film. That got me through.

5. What has been your favourite character to play on stage?

It was NAS in Mercury Fur, I was a boy, I had a hectic wig, it was a comedy role and I fell in love with him a bit. But now I’d have to say it’s the role I’m in right now! Effie in Iphigenia in SPLOTT. She’s a total badass. And she doesn’t care what anyone thinks!
